Obituary for Ronald Robert Williams Sr.
Ronald Robert Williams, Sr., was born on January 15, 1947 to the late John and Anna Williams in Wilmington, DE.
Ronald received his early education in the Middletown School System; after his family moved to Wilmington, DE, he attended DeLaWarr High School.
He later enlisted in the U. S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War (1965 - 1967), he was awarded the purple heart metal, after suffering multiple wounds in Vietnam.
He was a long-distance truck driver for many years. Ron retired as a CNA at Delaware Psychiatric Center after 15 years, where he provided compassionate care to clients and was beloved by his patients and co-workers.
Ronald had a love for gardening, collection of hats and he loved horses. He enjoyed the outdoors, until he was no longer able to do so.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Marvin, John; sisters, Esther, Ruth and Margaret; stepdaughter, Stephanie Lynn Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, of 22 years, Edna Williams; children, Cheryl Williams, Jonathan (Knyali) Williams, Kimberlyn (Lawrence) Ray, Ronald, Jr. (Tiffine) Williams, Donna Williams; stepsons, Gregory A. Smith and Douglas R. Smith; grandchildren, Ashly, Christopher, David; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Viola Brown and Susie Boyer; brother, James Williams; his loving and longtime friend, Patricia and a host of other relatives and friends.
